Secondary Campus Deputy Principal Update
Welcome to the 2024 school year. My name is Adrian Hooper and I am the Deputy Principal overseeing both the Year 8s and the Year 11s again this year. Working with me on both Year levels will be HoD of Student Support and Wellbeing, Mrs Anita Beutel. Supporting our students in Year 8 will be Year level Dean, Mrs Kylie Child and in Year 11, Year level Dean Ms Cassie Roads.
I am also the Deputy Principal tasked with creating and maintain the Secondary campus timetable.
Timetables, Subject Changes and Assessment Calendars
We have had a relatively smooth start to the year with regard to students’ timetabled classes. I would like to thank parents for all their work and support in Term 3 and 4 of last year with the subject selection process. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, subject changes have now closed for Semester 1.
Parents and students are reminded students can access their timetables at any time through OneSchool. I have emailed all students the instructions on how to do so.
The instruction email also shows students how they can download from OneSchool their own personal assessment calendar. These will be available from the beginning of Week 3. Students are reminded to download this important document a few times a term, or particularly if their classroom teacher has informed them of an assessment date change. Timetables and assessment calendars are also available in QParents for those parents who have registered.
Please continue to remind your child to bring their fully-charged laptop each day and check their emails daily.
Expectations of the Senior School
Its an exciting time for both Year 11 and 12 students; for Year 11s commencing their post-compulsory senior phase of learning and for Year 12s commencing their last year of high school. It is timely that we remind all Year 11 and 12 students of the expectations of the Senior School:
- Actively participate in the academic program;
- Attend school between 8:45am and 2:55pm daily as per your timetable and maintain an attendance rate of at least 90%;
- Have less than 10% unacceptable/unexplained reasons for lateness to school;
- Attend all timetabled lessons, unless absent due to a medical or other reasonable circumstance verified by parent/carer;
- Have no incidents of truancy;
- Comply with the Redlynch State College Student Code of Conduct;
- Complete required course work and assessment for each subject;
- Submit all drafts and assessment items by the required due dates;
- Attend all scheduled exams;
- If relevant, attend all work placement requirements according to your timetable.
I look forward to working with all parents this year, especially those with children in Years 8 and 11.
Welcome back to school. My name is Natasha Glover and I am the Deputy Principal overseeing both the Year 9s and the Year 12s again this year as well as the International Student Program. Our students are to be commended on a great start to the year. We have seen a few changes and updates to some of our general rules and the students, in the main, have accepted these and moved on to the business of learning.

Year 12 Date Claimer – Formal 2024 – Friday 21st June – Pullman International
This is going to be a very special year for our Year 12s, the Graduating class of 2024. A year of ‘lasts’, but a year of preparing for a lifetime of ‘firsts’. If you have any questions regarding your son/daughter’s education, you can email me at the college on nglov12@eq.edu.au
I look forward to working with you all this year.
