Head of Campus (Secondary)
Year 12 External Exams
The Year 12 External exams start on Monday and continue for the next four (4) weeks. This is the culmination of 13 years of schooling. I wish all the Year 12 students all the best during this time. My advice to all is take a moment to breathe and get plenty of sleep. Study with your friends, on your own or with your family. Take the time to rest and relax in between so you are well prepared. Make sure you have eaten something beforehand to give you the energy to get through the exam. Be on time and have all the necessary materials you need to complete the exam. Do your best and have faith in your ability.
Construction Works
The Construction of the new multi-purpose facility is well under way. This takes up a considerable area at the top of the school. We would like to remind everyone that the area is fenced off for the safety of everyone. We have asked all students to keep clear of the construction site. The building works will give our Construction students the opportunity to see firsthand the process from start to finish.
Due to Workplace Health and Safety reasons, we ask that all visitors to the school keep clear of the construction zone.
Design and Technology Teacher Association Awards
The Business Liaison Association (BLA) is a not-for-profit organisation which has provided opportunities to showcase student project work across all learning areas for the last 30 years. The BLA hold the Design and Technology Teachers association (DATTA) awards along with sponsors each year with great student projects on display.
In 2023, Redlynch State College convened the DATTA awards. Over 200 entries across 21 categories were received from schools across the Far North Region. The sponsors who put so much money into the DATTA awards were given the task of judging the outstanding entries. The student projects were just outstanding across the board. Judging was extremely difficult, and the sponsors took considerable time in making their decisions.
The awards presentation will be held today (Thursday 19th October) at the Shangri-La. I am pleased to inform our community that RSC students will be among the winners of categories. We will let you know who placed in the awards in the next newsletter and on Facebook. Well done to all our students for doing great work in class.
