RACE Visual Arts Exhibition 2023

On the 6th October,  I had the privilege to officially open the RACE Visual Arts Exhibition at the Kite Gallery in Cairns City.  The art work on display from our students was of an exceptionally high quality with everyone in attendance being treated to something very special!  Congratulations to Mrs Stephanie Webber and Mrs Anne Eddington on supporting the students to put together such a fantastic exhibition.  Thank you to Ms Cremin for her leadership, and the teachers and teacher aides in the faculty for your team work in making this event so positive and a showpiece for the College.  I am already looking forward to next year’s exhibition.

RACE Showcase 2023

The very next Thursday, I once again witnessed the incredible talent of our students and their teachers at the Annual Showcase held at CPAC.  Students from Year 4-12 were on stage in Music, Drama and Dance and all performers gave it their all on stage and thrilled the audience on the night.  Congratulations, in particular to our Year 12 students participating.  This was your last performance in Showcase before you embark on your next challenge.  Well done!

A special mention must go to Mr Robert Crookes – Head of Department, Mrs Sam Parkinson, Ms Emma Pashley, Mrs Belinda Riles, Ms Amelia Pegrum, Mr Gary Holloway and Mr Dan Bruce for your tireless commitment and brilliant teaching to get the students as confident as they were on the big stage!  You are all superstars in my eyes!

Redlynch State College Festival This Saturday 4-9pm on the Primary Campus!

The biennial RSC Festival will commence at 4:00pm and conclude at 9:00pm this Saturday with lots of Carnival Rides, food vans and fun activities planned throughout the evening.  This is a major fundraiser for the RSC P&C Association.  Have a read of the information flyer included in the newsletter.  I look forward to seeing many parents and community members there with your children on Saturday.  You will find me cooking hot chips.

Year 12 Block Exams

Block Exams commence this Monday for our Year 12 students.  This is the final opportunity for these students to demonstrate what they have learnt and to make one final push to get the best possible marks – which in turn will determine their ATAR.  On behalf of all the staff at the College, I wish those students sitting exams all the best.  Good Luck!!
