From the Business Manager's Desk
As I write this update, our Executive Services Officer, Julie; Business Manager (HR), Natasha, and I have just completed an intensive four-day professional development program focused on Leadership, Communication, and Process Development.
These learning opportunities ensure that our Administration Services team is not only highly skilled but also aligned in our goal - to provide exceptional operational and administrative support so that our teachers can focus on what they do best: delivering quality education for your children.
Our commitment to continuous improvement behind the scenes plays a vital role in creating a smooth-running school environment, enabling both staff and students to thrive.
Facilities and Maintenance Updates
Secondary Canteen Expansion
Work continues on the exciting expansion of the Secondary Campus Canteen. While progress has been steady, some unforeseen logistical constraints have resulted in a revised completion date of 8 September 2025.
We are working closely with the project team and builders to minimise any disruption to daily operations and to ensure that the final result meets the highest quality standards. In the meantime, our hardworking P&C Canteen staff will continue serving from the mobile kitchen setup, operating with a reduced menu until the new space is ready to open.
Once complete, the expanded canteen will provide more space, improved facilities, and greater menu options—benefiting both students and staff for years to come.
Primary Nature Playground
We are thrilled to announce that the contract for our new Primary Nature Playground has been awarded! Stage 1 construction will begin in September, with completion expected in early January—just in time for our 2026 students to enjoy from the very first day of the school year.
Stage 1 will be dedicated to the Year 2 and Year 3 playground area, transforming it into a vibrant, nature-inspired space designed to spark imagination, encourage active play, and provide opportunities for collaborative learning. The design incorporates natural elements that promote creativity, teamwork, and physical development, ensuring an engaging and age-appropriate environment for our students.
Mike Hansen, Dale Archibald, and I will continue to share updates as the playground takes shape, both through our newsletters and via the College’s social media channels—so keep an eye out for progress photos and milestone announcements.
In Closing
Thank you for your ongoing support of Redlynch State College. It is a privilege to work alongside such a vibrant, engaged, and forward-thinking school community. Together, we are building not just great facilities, but a strong foundation for our students’ future success.
